Pet photography is very popular and pretty easy to do.
These pictures are my favorites because it shows a clear picture my dachshund (left)
Notice the wagging tail, which means he’s happy .
No pet photo is without some action shots. (above right) I’ve captured my dog running toward a dead bird. My pet photography secret is knowing where the pet is going next. I put my focus on an area that I think he will move to. It works almost all the time!

Action pictures: gives life to things and freezes the action in a clear, crisp manner. To gain this skill, I lowered my shutter speed and raised the AEL and ISO. The real trick that gives me great action photos is that a second before I snap the picture, I jerk my head violently to the left. This allows the camera to experience the same motion as the vehicle and the picture reflects that connection.

Portraits: why pay hundreds of dollars for family portraits when you can do if yourself?
My key to great portraits is to raise the white balance setting up as far as it will go. This is my nephew and it turned out a little whiter than I wanted, but overall a tremendous picture.

Plants & flowers: very popular with beginning

photographers because the frickin things hold still! I zoomed in as close as possible on the palm tree shot, and it captured the moment.

Vacation pictures: By far, the most photos that a person takes is while on vacation. These are a sample of the many outstanding vacation pics I've taken. These include: portrait of friends w/New York as backdrop, beautiful San Antonio at night & the twinkling of lights as it illuminates the downtown area, a sandy beach in Cancun, some beach volleyball action, a beautiful golf course (check out that great swing!), a golf hole that shows how crisp and bright the green of the fairways are.

Beautiful San Antonio evening lights

I say pooey to all the expert photographers that warn us not to look directly at the sun for a picture. This bright & crisp sun shot was easy, and I had my eyesight back within 4 days.
A really cool looking picture is when you take it toward a mirror and the reflection displays the image behind you. My first shot was totally black, but then I took the lens cap off and the magic happened.

Similar to paint artists..the fruit scene is a good way to work on your camera settings. The bright colors of these apples, pears and banana’s bring out the flavor to whoever looks at this picture. I held the camera in my left hand only to get this type of clarity and position.

Theme Pictures: Because of my creativity, I’m able to put objects together that create a specific theme. I’m sure you can already tell, but this theme is teeth & it represents the clamp that the foreign oil companies have on the US.

Be sure and check back for updates as I share more of my photography secrets with you.
